School Minibuses

At Alton School, we welcome pupils from various parts of Hampshire and neighbouring counties, and we recognise the importance of providing suitable transportation options. To ensure the convenience of our pupils, we operate our own fleet of minibuses, offering a reliable and efficient service.

Our minibus service is available to all pupils from Year 3 to Sixth Form. It is important to note that this service comes at an additional cost to the school fees.

Current Routes:

We currently operate the following routes to and from school each day:

Basingstoke
We have two minibuses covering Basingstoke area: Basingstoke A covers: Herriard Green, Basingstoke, Kempshott and Oakley. Basingstoke B covers South Warnborough, Odiham, North Warnborough, Old Basing and Basingstoke

Farnham
We have two minibuses covering the Farnham area. Farnham A covers Crondall, Ewshott, Folly Hill, Heath Lane, Heath End and Waverley Lane.  Farnham B covers Frensham Road, Echo Barn Lane, Boundstone, Rowledge,  Bentley and Froyle.

Haslemere
Covering Kingsley, Whitehill, Lindford, Headley, Grayshott and Haslemere, Beaconhill, and Churt.

Petersfield /Liphook
Covering Selborne, Greatham, Liss, Petersfield, Rake and Liphook.

Ropley and Four Marks
Covering Four Marks, Ropley, Alresford and Privett

Candovers
Covering Northington, Old Alresford, Bentworth and Medstead

Winchester
Covering Winchester, Kings Worthy, Easton, Itchen Abbas and Alresford

Supervision:

Please be aware that the transport service is unsupervised. However, for Lower School children, supervision is provided at the end of the school day until the departure time at 4.20 pm.

Additional Travel Option:

Alton School is conveniently located near to Alton Train station. The line to Alton provides direct, regular and fast connections from Bentley, Farnham, Aldershot and Ash Vale. The line then proceeds to Woking via Brookwood station.

From September 2024 the school will provide a complementary shuttle bus service from the station to school at the start and end of the day.

Journey times are both regular and quick with approximate journey times of 7 minutes to Bentley, 14 minutes to Farnham, 20 minutes to Aldershot and 27 Minutes to Ash Vale. There are currently two services an hour which fit with the start and end of the school day.
