Equestrian Club
Alton School has a healthy history of success in equestrian activities. Individually our pupils excel on a national and international level, and we pride ourselves in fostering and encouraging the many different talents that they demonstrate.
As a team, our pupils come together and are competitive amongst the top equestrian schools in the country. In the past we have been crowned National School Show Jumping Champions at Hickstead, National Schools Cross Country Champions and have competed at many top venues.
Our pupils are encouraged on many different levels.
Those who own their own pony are encouraged to join our Equestrian Team. They can choose to enter a variety of competitions in all of the equestrian disciplines, and we have enjoyed much individual and team success in recent years. We also provide monthly training sessions to develop and improve the skills that each of our pupils already demonstrates, and thus ensure that we can enter the best possible teams when out competing.
Those who do not own their own pony may join our Equestrian Club. We offer weekly riding lessons at a local BHS approved riding centre, where all pupils receive superb instruction in a safe and organised environment. Everyone is able to learn new skills, whilst enjoying the company of like minded friends. We cater for complete beginners, through to the more advanced rider who is confident to ride independently.
We are keen to be dynamic and offer a range of opportunities for all of our equestrian enthusiasts. We have held our own team show jumping competition to showcase the talents of all our pupils, alongside other schools in the area. We also plan to incorporate trips and visits to our busy calendar, and encourage our Team and Club members to visit famous equestrian events and places of interest.
