Nursery

Curriculum

Painting, singing, exploring, counting … The Early Years Department is set within a beautiful walled garden with access to a further 19 acres of private grounds. Children explore the woodland, hunt for bugs in the meadow and try out new skills in the adventure playground. Planned activities and daily walks help to stimulate curiosity and encourage independent learning.

In the Nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, focussed on play-based activities with the individual child at the centre of all we do.

Activities vary from day to day, including maths, language, creative and science-based activities. In addition, older children have regular weekly PE sessions, cookery and music lessons. We can also offer exciting dance and Monkey Music classes at an additional cost.

Dancing classes are for children from approximately 3 years upwards, whilst Monkey Music has separate classes for babies, toddlers and older children.

Activities for babies and toddlers are tailored to their needs and development. We provide plenty of stimulation, introducing them to various textures, smells and sights. They have fun with water, enjoy painting and chalking, and investigate sounds and light.

The babies spend time outside on their own private decking area where they watch the mobiles in the trees and listen to the wind chimes, as well as observing the older children from a safe distance.
