Our outline plans for developing the school are now available to view. The public consultation period is now open, beginning with a display of our proposals on Saturday 19th January from 10am to 4pm. All local resident feedback will be taken into account before the application is made in full to the Council in early February. As this is a consultation, the designs shown are indicative at this stage.
Dependent on the smooth running of the planning application, building will begin over the summer. The development is split into two phases:
- Redesigned Car park with increased capacity
- A School Square giving a formal setting in front of the Manor House
- School Cafe providing a new social hub offering snacks and drinks to sixth formers, staff, parents and visitors
- A new indoor sports centre providing indoor courts for a large variety of sports, with changing rooms, teaching space and a reception area
It is exciting to think that we should have a large indoor sports centre by this time next year! There will be fully-equipped changing rooms with showers and lockers, and a reception area. Our reshaped and resurfaced car park will be in operation too – with an increased number of parking spaces and designated space for cycles. The new café will also be open for business, providing a welcoming space for parents, staff and sixth formers to meet and talk.
Phase 2 includes a new artificial pitch up on the field and the refurbishment of the Manor House.
The Sisters of Our Lady of Providence will be building themselves a new home which is better suited to their needs. Once this has happened, we will refurbish the Manor House and restore it as the heart of our school. It will provide additional staff and teaching space and the grounds outside will be landscaped to create a new focal point and entrance for the whole school. The landscaping and designs for the car park and café feed into this plan.
