A Level results lead to excellent first choice university success

Re-post of an August 2017 News item:

Headmaster Graham Maher is delighted to announce another very successful year of academic results as our students achieved a 100% pass rate at A Level.  More than half the students received top A* – B grades and the overwhelming majority sailed into their first choice of university to read a breadth of subjects from International Relations, Business Studies and Nursing to History and the History of Art. Of particular note were the straight A* – A grades secured by Charity Culley, Isabel Lanyon and Charlotte Walton. Btec results were also strong with 80% of students achieving Distinction Stars.

Equally impressive was a 100% A* – B pass rate for the Extended Project Qualification as these results can be critical in accruing UCAS points for students’ university applications.

Across the board Mr Maher was pleased that the girls had put in a terrific effort and striven to be the best that they could be. This sets an excellent standard as we look forward to welcoming our first cohort of boys to the Sixth Form of Alton School in September 2018.
